International Forum of Economy and Culture - 2012

The City of Culture of Galicia sets out the International Forum of Economy and Culture with the challenge of creating a permanent meeting point for the spheres of Culture and Busyness to promote collaboration between these two strategic sectors. For two days, the complex of Gaiás will become the place to spread among cultural agents a catalogue of best practices to promote project financing diversification and to improve their management ability; and, among the companies belonging to other sectors, the advantages and benefits for their business brought about by collaboration with artists and cultural companies, in such hard times and in a more and more demanding market.

Different international initiatives will be present at this inter-sectorial forum, all of them proving the benefits of these collaborations. One of them will be the Royal Academy of Arts, which is the artistic institution in the United Kingdom with less dependency of public budgets, thanks to its department of "fundraising", responsible of self-financing though private funds (donations, exhibitions...).

From Brasil, Lala Daheinzelin will present Enthusiasmo Cultural, an agency specialising in designing strategies for creative economy, culture and development that has governments, companies such as BMW or Nestlè, and organizations such as UNESCO among its customers.

There will be also Galician firms such as Genesal, a company in the sector of machinery that is restating its busyness culture and its internationalisation policies through design.

All of them are successful models that will be together at the City of Culture, with the aim of consolidating this initiative as one of the strategic lines of Gaiás, with the challenge of contributing to the development of Galicia, to the modernisation of our busyness scheme, and to a more effective immersion into the knowledge society.
