Forest of the Way

Would you like your experience of the Way to leave a mark beyond the personal memories that you carry with you? Come and plant a tree at the Forest of the Way, in Santiago de Compostela. In this way, your pilgrimage will have an affectionate and respectful connection with the land and landscape of Galicia -that accompanied and welcomed you for a good part of this trip- and that will last over time in a unique setting, past which the Vía da Prata runs in parallel. The Way will remain in your memories and your story in the landscape of Compostela.

HOW WILL THE PLANTATION BE?
We may fetch you at the Pilgrims’ Office in Santiago de Compostela to transfer you to the City of Culture by bus. Next, we will welcome you at the Gaiás Centre Museum to accompany you to the plantation area. During this tour, we will explain the architectural complex designed by Peter Eisenman, as well as its green areas, such as the Forest of Galicia, where the Forest of the Way is located, comprising some 12,000 native trees that make up the green lung of the capital of Galicia. At the end of the plantation, we offer you a hot drink at the Cantina do Gaiás, courtesy of the City of Culture.
