Join the Education Team of the Gaiás Centre Museum on a guided tour to discover the personal, literary, artistic and political journey of one of the most prominent figures in Galician history. In this visit, we will delve into the digital art exhibition CASTELAO. Mirar por Galicia, an immersive experience that combines artificial intelligence, holograms, video projections and virtual reality to construct a narrative offering a renewed perspective on the life, legacy, and artistic universe of Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao.
The tour explores the storyline of an exhibition that invites visitors to discover the person behind the iconic figure of this renowned author, artist, politician, and intellectual of the Generation of 1916. Experiencing the world through Castelao’s eyes with the help of virtual reality or opening a window into his childhood and youth are just some of the scenes recreated at the Gaiás Centre Museum. The installation also traces the many places and moments that shaped Castelao’s life — from his travels across Europe and the Americas in search of knowledge and education, to his years of forced exile following the Civil War and dictatorship. An intimate and human perspective that brings to life both his creative pulse and his personal journey.
The exhibition features an immersive installation using cubic video projection and quadraphonic sound: a summary of Castelao’s vital and creative journey, narrated in the first person, presenting a selection of his works brought to life through 3D animation and artificial intelligence. This is an artistic recreation of his creative spirit, delivered with full documentary rigour.
