On the occasion of the award ceremony of the Medallas de Galicia 20025, the Gaiás Centre Museum will be closed to the public on Thursday 24 July from 10.00 to 15.30 hours. During this time, it will not be possible to visit the building and the exhibitions, and the guided tours will also be suspended. It will reopen in the afternoon (from 15.30 to 20.00 h).
Fireworks on the night of July 24th
On the night of Thursday 24 July 2025, the fireworks of the festivities of the Apostle St. James will be launched from three different locations in Santiago, including Mount Gaiás - in addition to the Alameda and the Parque de Carlomagno (in Fontiñas). The Cidade da Cultura site will extend its usual opening hours and both the car parks and the outdoor areas will be open until 2.00 a.m. so that the public can watch the fireworks display.
The central square, the Bosque de Galicia and other parts of the complex, such as the Parque da Balea, offer a good view of the sky over Compostela, allowing the public to enjoy the show. It is important to note that the pedestrian access to the Bosque de Galicia from Diego Bernal street will be closed from 16.00 h. It will be possible to access part of the Forest from the Parque da Balea, always respecting the safety zones.
